ALL LOCAL BANDS/ARTISTS

Once you've booked at Café Kashmir make sure you come down to the cafe before your show. You may think of special requirements or get some great ideas about your presentation.

·     Follow these guidelines when booking at Kashmir. There are exceptions to these rules so please make sure you talk to us about your specific show.

·    Friday and Saturday( booked only twice a month) we have two-three bands on the bill. Shows usually start between 8 and 8:30PM.

·    Please check with booking for help with sound check and set up; sets per band are up to 45min.

FIRST TIME PERFORMERS

·     You will be booked for a Thursday.  You should feel ready to play Friday or Saturday when you feel very confident that 20 or more people will come to see your band. If you don't feel that's the case, that's okay. We ask you play the café during the week, send out emails to friends, family, and build a fan base.

·      Free drinks for band members only. 

·      Make sure you support other artists. If you like their work, introduce yourself. Often times your first fans will be other artists.

·      Café Kashmir has no "foot traffic." ZERO. No-one comes to the cafe except to see the ARTISTS.

·      Café Kashmir does not serve alcohol.  If you and or any member of your group are caught with drugs or alcohol you will not be allowed to play the café.

3 BANDS ON WEEKENDS.
Please encourage friends, family, fans to come early or stay pass your set and support the other artists.  It is important to be associated with a good night.


IF YOU AGREE TO PLAY A SHOW AT CAFÉ KASHMIR WE RECOMMEND YOU NOT HAVE ANY OTHER LOCAL SHOWS AT LEAST 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE SHOW AND 1 WEEK AFTER.

Having another event in just a few days will probably make one or both unsuccessful.

Make your show special make it a party. Bring your CD’s to sell. Bring the birthday party to the café. Is it someone's last show with the band? Did someone graduate? People will come out and support the cause.

WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT?
Thought and effort will bring people out to the Café and it WILL NOT go out of business.

Please remember, we're on your side. We want your show at our café to be a special event. In general you should feel ready to play a weekend when you're confident that, with some thoughtful booking you will be playing to a crowd of 20 to 40 friends and fans. Until that time, be patient -- we're not planning to go anywhere. When you are ready, Kashmir WANTS you to play.
